Leviathan, you should take your lists to the AVFM wiki.

      I'm serious.

      If you won't, I will.

I might just do that. I will see if my attention span is sufficient for me to send in a Wiki application tomorrow.

Are those affiliate links? If so, are affiliate links allowed in the Wiki?

            Nope.

We wouldn't include the Amazon links on the Wiki anyway, due to their commercial nature.

              Can others also contribute?

Because I want to share Feminism is for everyone. Huge chucks of it are available online, and the first chapter (only 7 pages) pretty much summarizes a lot of what feminists think.

However, the author does talk A LOT about race, because she feels the feminist movement has been hijacked (or rather: has always been) about privileged white women. So I don't know if that part can be considered representative.

Glanced at the "Feminism is for everyone" book. I have to say one thing. It is almost like feminism is a religion and that book aspires to be the bible.

Religions prosletyze abstract stuff, and the primary goal of a religion or church is organizational control over its members, in such a way that reinforces the political power of the church, and which also reinforces its finances too.

Frickin' hell. I couldn't take much of that. Happy clappy feminism is even creepier than blood and thunder feminism. It's that strange dissonance you get when someone culty is telling you in a joyful voice how Jesus doesn't want you to go to Hell. It's the uncanny valley where tone and message don't correlate.

Hold on the strongest Patriarchal voice in her life is her mother's voice? On page x! Didn't that tell her anything? Didn't the penny drop even as she was writing that?

For those not in the know, "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" was first published in 1792 and is therefore LONG out of copyright. You can get the whole document in various formats from Project Gutenberg here. You can also get Feminism is For Everybody here. Unlike the one on Google Books, instead of having missing pages, this one actually has a couple of pages duplicated for some reason (pages 60 and 61). If you thought Big Red was a wacko, here's the first thing in the book that I laid eyes on...

Males as a group have and do benefit the most from patriarchy, from the assumption that they are superior to females and should rule over us. But those benefits have come with a price. In return for all the goodies men receive from patriarchy, they are required to dominate women, to exploit and oppress us, using violence if they must to keep patriarchy intact.

Feminism Is For Everybody by Bell Hooks, page ix.
Wow... there's so many levels of wrongness just in those 3 simple lines, and glancing over the rest of the page, that was when she was in one of her SANER moments. I can't help but wonder what other gems she has in store and if her lunacy meter ranking is somewhere off to the right of Valerie Solanas.
When a woman says to a man 'IF you really love me you would (INSERT VERB HERE)... 'IF you really love me you should buy/give/take/do X, Y, Z'... That's using...that's testing. And my answer to that is always; 'IF you loved me you wouldn't have asked that fucking question, now pack your shit and get the fuck out of my house.' - Maxx

Asking a feminist about men's rights is like asking a cattle rancher about veganism.
