  • Black ribbon day?

Hey i had an idea what if on white ribbon day we wear a black ribbon instead to show that we will not buy into the bullshit and find the whole thing lacking in real evidence?

    just a thought

In fact almost every color ribbon has something attached, unless you get into the really specific colors. Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Black, White, Gray, Orange, Purple, Brown, Pink, Pink and Blue, Periwinkle are listed in the Wikipedia entry for "Awareness Ribbons".

Maybe a black and a white ribbon together, to signify mourning the white ribbon campaign?

        Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no Patriarchy.

Apparently, women get only 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. We only have 23 cents left, but feminists insist they want the rest.

It appears Black has already been claimed by some groups and causes.
I think Grey might be a better bet, if anything.
It seems to have a lot less associated with it.

Probably wouldn't matter much either way unless you could get a lot of people to do it though.

          Edit: Sniped!

Indigo ribbon is promising; currently listed as awareness of "targeted group" and "bullying" and "MSRA". The ribbon currently has no definitive attachment otherwise.

We could by rights, make a specific ribbon. Brown with an indigo stripe; says what needs to be said, "eat shit motherfucker, we're the targeted group."

Sure, as long as it doesn't get confused with the Silver Ribbon, which ovarian cancer in Australia, gynecological cancer in New Zealand, stalking, dyslexia, and most often, best film...

Remember, women are ribbon freaks, they've already come up with a thousand of the fuckers.

So then how about: Tungsten ribbon, because it's dense and hard, just like a penis.

                    RE: Black ribbon day?

ok, here's my two coppers; brown and indigo in any of these configurations...

This is the atheist solidarity ribbon; probably the easiest, as you can get the two colors at any sewing store, stitch or glue the two together, black to brown, red to indigo; bada-boom!!!

This is the support police enforcement ribbon, I actually rather like this one; but it would require a little more work wide brown, with a slightly narrower indigo, glue the blue on top of the brown, and try not to make it messy.

This is the head/neck cancer ribbon. It'd be a little more finicky than the above ribbon, but... wide white to brown, fine red to indigo, glue them together with a steady hand.

Are we going to do anything about White Ribbon? We need to go through the site with a fine toothed comb, and expose them. I would be part of a task group. If we don't do it, who will?

                          RE: Black ribbon day?

we could offer out black and white ribbons on the day and have fact sheets ready and ideally stand just down the street from the mangina's and feminists handing out theirs

OR we could go after the ones handing them out and aim for the men handing them out by asking them questions like "so how many women did you rape before you were TOLD that rape was wrong?" or "so when did you stop beating your wife?"
                          [hr]
Bonus points if you ask questions like this while they have more than one person around them seemigly buying it
