And together, we can set up Men's charter in Singapore. Even when it's going to be by another name.

While AWARE and Women's Charter might stand for gender equality, because they support women there will be bound to be female-sided biasness. First, I want to set up a helpline for abused or men who need help. Then, I want to research whether Singaporean men are at the disadvantage in Singapore, and if so, to what extent, and bring those awareness.
Don\'t ask for change. Let\'s be the change.

    Good idea
First place to start would be the human rights violations against men (and not women ) in the criminal justice sysytem where men (and not women ) can be sentenced to caning. So when a man commits a crime he gets a sentence for the crime same as a woman and an additional sentence of caning just for the crime of being male. This is against all human rights treaties and is sexist against men.
The next thing to argue is forced national service which applies only to men , women are not required to do any of this.

Aware is for equality , so ask them where they stand on this and why they dont actively campaign aginst this gender inequality.
SG is the worst counrty to be born a male where there is actual legislation against males specifically. i do not know of any other country like this. You can be caned for a visa violation (only if you re male)

      RE: All Singaporeans Gather!

Hmm...for the first one we need to see an offence as an example and see their consequences, then look at, say, two similar cases with the offenders' only differences are their genders and see if one's punishment is worse than the other.

As for the ns thing, there is a website that allows citizens to give feedback to the govt <http://www.reach.gov.sg/>. I have posted one suggesting changing the recruiting system ( http://www.reach.gov.sg/YourSay/DiscussionForum/tabid/101/mode/3/Default.aspx?ssFormAction=[[ssBlogThread_VIEW]]&tid=[[9696]]#top ). Though there are other suggestions regarding NS too, with the latest example here: ( http://www.reach.gov.sg/YourSay/DiscussionForum/tabid/101/mode/3/Default.aspx?ssFormAction=[[ssBlogThread_VIEW]]&tid=[[9994]]#top ). Real unfortunate that some men protesting against ns are deemed whiners.

As for asking, well, I only got them through facebook page asking if ns/caning etc. are equality, with no reply. Yet. Though they posted a few supporting fathers and male sexual abused victims.

I think for the above topics, we need to set up a research group focusing on each gender and see if one is treated better than the other in each areas. Perhaps male-focused as aware is female-focused, or looking at both genders when focusing on one is a wrong move.

You say "Hmm...for the first one we need to see an offence as an example and see their consequences, then look at, say, two similar cases with the offenders' only differences are their genders and see if one's punishment is worse than the other."
That should be very easy. Just look at people who break stay too long on their visas , this happens often with working immigrants. Women get prison or fine , men get prison and caning. Look at assault by women on their maids , they fined men who do this get caned. This is clear discrimination on gender alone , what do the women of the Womens Charter say about this embarrasing situation?
The work you are doing is very important. You should never give up. Most women will see that men are discriminated against. I think the reason you get no replies about men regarding caning and ns is because people have been brainwashed in Singapore and they are afraid to go against the government policies. I beleive it is a one party state run by one family who rule by fear. Control the men and you control the country, otherwise they would have the fear of caning for women too. Women in Singapore arew completely protected from violence by the state whereas men are controlled by it from a young age , even at school. I agree with you , you need to form a men s focused group to deal with this. Hopefully men will not afraid to join such a group.

Here is a copy and paste from the discussion forum you linked. I agree with the spririt of equality and no discrimination based on gender.
this is the 8th point made by this poster......
        8. Laws which discriminate against people of a particular gender and age be removed. Laws are supposed to apply to all citizens, regardless of their age, gender, income, etc.

Why is it that only males do National Service? Only males can be caned for certain offences?

Females can be made to do National Service as well. They can go through an easier BMT and serve as clerks and nurses.

Caning is a form of torture that even the British themselves have realised was a bad idea and they abolished long ago. Why are we still keeping it?

Have a look here what they are saying about NS , caning and other discrimination against men. The people are starting to speak out in Singapore , this is very different from 2-3 yeares ago when I lasted checked.
        Discusiion blows AWARE away

          RE: All Singaporeans Gather!

Here are 2 articles to read on at your own risk:

          http://therealsingapore.com/content/singapore-becoming-anti-women

My comment: IMO, Singapore is anti-men instead. One example is dealing with only issues affecting women negatively.

          http://therealsingapore.com/content/right-protection-marital-rape

My comment: If you don't like sex one bit, don't marry in the first place. Also, how would you tell between a rape and false accusation and betrayal between a married couple.

So, what are your comments on those two articles.

Here is a link to share: one guy has proposed to improve on the NS system. While the males still have to go, so would the females as it covers public services too. Would you support his idea?

          [Updated 2]

Found a Reach topic discussing having a side for men's issues here: http://www.reach.gov.sg/YourSay/DiscussionForum/tabid/101/mode/3/Default.aspx?ssFormAction=[[ssBlogThread_VIEW]]&tid=[[11534]]#top.

          [Updated 3]

Found ADAMs Asociation on Facebook, where they seem to be concerned about men's issues. Unfortunately, they seem to be white knights instead. Let me know if it's legit, though.
